Keeping Local Jobs Local
September 1, 2014
An external wall insulation company based in Gwent is creating jobs after winning a contract with us.
At least six of the workforce employed by Joyner P A Cymru Limited at Arael View in Abertillery live in the neighbourhood. On another site four of the workers at Rhoslan in Tredegar are also local.
Tony Sheehan of the Risca based Joyner P A Cymru Limited said: “We want to keep jobs as local as we can. We’re extremely proud that we are able to do this with the help of Tai Calon”.
Joyner P A Cymru Limited in association with Wetherby Systems has a £3.57m contract with Tai Calon to insulate the outside of 500 homes built from non-traditional materials before winter 2015. It has worked alongside Tai Calon’s Employment and Enterprise Coach, Phillip Meek to make sure as much of the work stays as local as possible.
“We have the opportunity to help people from the borough back into work or into work for the first time. That’s what it’s all about for us. If anyone would like more information about training opportunities, courses or our Work Club they can contact me on 0300 303 1717,” said Phillip Meek.
Staff from Joyner P A Cymru Limited were at Tai Fest, Tai Calon’s annual tenant fun-day. They spoke with a number of tenants, one of whom they are hoping to employ shortly. The company is shortly to begin work at Cae Glas in Nantyglo and will create even more jobs.
