Record Breaking team

Our new Voids “Project” team has dramatically cut the number of empty homes from a record 308 properties to 183 by the end of the financial year (March, 2016).

It is the first time this has been achieved since we took over our homes in 2010.

The team had been set up at the beginning of November, and everyone worked together to change and improve what we do to make the repair and re-letting process more efficient and productive.

David Gray, Interim Head of Operations, said everyone involved was determined to make a difference.

“We have tried to tackle voids previously, however this time we succeeded due to the Voids “Project” team going that extra mile to make the pilot work. The motivation and effort of the team is demonstrated by the excellent results in reducing the number of empty homes and I would like to congratulate them on their success,” said David Gray.

He also nominated the Voids “Project” team for our staff, “Made a Difference” award. It is presented on a monthly basis to individuals and teams who have “gone above and beyond” what is normally expected of them.

David Gray and Andrew Myatt, Director of Communities and Housing, presented M.A.D rosettes to Cara Bayliss, Gillian Roberts, Paul Bray, Rhian Mann, Daniel Hudd, Jeff Howard, Kate Davies, Bernard Hackling, Matthew Jones, Colin Coopey, Mike Betty, Simon Deneen, Tristian Southway and Andy Cooke as well as to the trades staff and operatives from the PST voids team who are represented in the photo by Martyn Bowen and Rhys Harries
