Rugby incentive for tenants
September 23, 2014
Tai Calon tenants could watch the county’s premier rugby team play for free next season!
Its all thanks to a new sponsorship deal between Tai Calon Community Housing and Ebbw Vale RFC.
Tai Calon gives Time Banking, 2 for 1, vouchers to tenants who get involved with the organisation. They are awarded for everything from helping on a community clean up, taking part in a survey to attending occasional meetings.
Now the vouchers can be exchanged for tickets to see Ebbw Vale RFC in action at it’s home ground. It will cost just two vouchers for an adult’s ticket, with a child under 16 being able to accompany them for free.
Ross Watts, Head of Communities, said: “I am absolutely delighted that we are able to offer this fantastic deal to tenants. What better way to be rewarded for giving a little time to us, than by watching Ebbw Vale play for free!”
Thanks to Ebbw Vale RFC, 2 for 1 vouchers can be used for the Newport Gwent Dragons pre-season friendly against the English giants, Northampton Saints. The game is taking place at Eugene Cross Park on Friday, 29 August.
Jonathan Jones, Chairman of Ebbw Vale RFC, said: “Ebbw Vale RFC recognises and values the role it has to play in our local community. It is delighted with the innovative partnership with Tai Calon which is looking to reward those people who are working to improve our community in so many ways.
It also makes access to high level sport possible in what are difficult economic times for all. We are looking forward to welcoming new supporters to the club and developing a long relationship with Tai Calon.”
Time Banking, 2 for 1, vouchers, can be exchanged for tickets at the Market Hall Cinema in Brynmawr as well as for day trips organised by Tai Calon. They can also be spent at Coleg Gwent’s hair and beauty department, the county’s leisure centres and the Eden Centre at Aberbeeg.
