Our Board sets the strategic direction of the business.

Meet our Board

Our board is made up of 6 independents, 3 council nominees and 3 tenants.

Board members at Tai Calon Community Housing share responsibility for:

  • Setting objectives and agreeing the plans to achieve those objectives
  • Approving our budget and accounts
  • Monitoring our performance against agreed plans and budgets; and
  • Making sure that the affairs of the organisation are conducted in a proper manner.

All of our Board Members are volunteers and are governed by the Rules of the organisation.

Dr Norma Barry MBA, FRSA, FCMI, MIOD - Chair

Norma Barry grew up in the South Wales mining valleys and went on to develop a career in the then Welsh Office and latterly the Welsh Government.

Joy is currently the Head of Finance at Monmouthshire County Council. She has worked in local government for 30 years, having held a variety of posts – all within the finance area.

Colber is a professional interim, consultant and trouble-shooter, a qualified engineer and post-graduate business director with over 32 years’ experience with public, private and third sector organisations.

Mark Perry

Mark Perry is the Area Manager for United Living, a UK wide company providing refurbished and new build living solutions. Mark has almost 30 years’ within the construction industry, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of the sector.

Keren Bender is a County Borough Councillor representing the Cwm ward; she is the cabinet member for education. She is a governor at both Cwm Primary, and Ebbw Fawr Learning Community. Keren is a management board member of Gwent Domestic Abuse.
