As a TLO, what else can we do for you?
Improving your household income
If you are on a low income or in receipt of benefits and are struggling financially, we can refer you to Tai Calon’s Income team to carry out a confidential assessment of your finances to ensure you are receiving all the benefits you are entitled to.
Housing management issues
If you have concerns about your estate, anti-social behaviour, rent, housing benefit or your home in general, we can arrange for your local Neighbourhood Officer to visit you and discuss your concerns in confidence.
Training Opportunities
If you or a member of your family have considered training or re-training for employment but did not know who to approach, we can direct you to one of our partner organisations, who would be happy to discuss any training opportunities available to you.
Employment Opportunities
If you or a member of your family are unemployed and are actively seeking employment, we can direct you to one of our partner organisations or employment specialists, who may be able to assist you to gaining employment.
Getting Involved
If you wish to undertake training or attend courses to develop your skills so that you can become actively involved in and contribute to projects within your neighbourhood, we can support you or direct you to one of our partner organisations, who would be happy to discuss the opportunities available to you.
Becoming a member of Tai Calon
Tai Calon is a community mutual organisation and all tenants have the right to become members and, as such, are owners of the organisation. Benefits of membership include having your say and influencing the issues that matter to you, being able to shape policies and services that suit you, and meet new people.
Membership is free and the TLO’s would be happy to complete an application form with you at your convenience. Ask your Tenant Liaison Officer for details.
Forming your own tenants/community group or becoming a tenant representative for future consultations
If you would like to form a group to represent your community, or become a key tenant for future consultations, and don’t know how to go about it, we will be happy to arrange for a member of the Community Investment and Involvement Team to visit you and discuss your proposals and assist wherever possible.
