Gas Cookers
If you are a tenant and own your own gas cooker, we will carry out a visual inspection of the appliance, but please note that the maintenance and upkeep of your gas cooker is your responsibility. To make sure that it is working properly , you should ensure that it is inspected and serviced by a Gas Safe Registered engineer.
The gas flame on any of your gas appliances should be blue and crisp. If it is orange or yellow in colour you should get your appliance checked immediately, as it may be leaking carbon monoxide. You can call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
If you would like to find out more about gas safety or where you can find a registered gas engineer in your area, then log on to the Gas Safe register website at www.gassaferegister.co.uk
