With Universal Credit being introduced in July, we decided it is important for community members to understand what changes are going to happen and how they will be affected.
We invited Nick Beddows, a Community Engagement Specialist from Shared Future, to give training to people from Sirhowy, Newtown, Cefn Golau, Waundeg, Rassau, Hilltop and Blaina.
Community members came into Tai Calon for four sessions to equip them with the knowledge and skills to share withintheir communities on issues related to Universal Credit.
Pennie Walker, our Better Together Lead, said:
“It is great to see people coming in from different communities who are interested in helping other people. Universal Credit is going to be a change for many people. Being able to offer advice and support in your own community will be of great benefit.”
