Every week we have an award for staff members who go above and beyond to help the community.
Here are a few examples of what our staff do to go above and beyond.
- While Lee Williams, Scott Cray and Darren Price from our Clean and Green team were working on Mrs McCloy’s fencing, she collapsed by her front door. Our team called her an ambulance and kept her calm until medical help arrived. Mrs McCloy was very grateful for the help she received!
- John Harris, our Communal Area Inspection Officer, has been working throughout lockdown undertaking fire safety inspections around our neighbourhoods. John had gone above and beyond in helping, Mr Rundle who fell outside his home. Mr Rundle’s daughter sent us a message saying “I would like to thank John Harris. My dad Mr Rundle had a fall and John was outside, I asked John for help getting my dad off the floor. John helped me, made sure my dad was safe and not hurt. I wanted to pass on how much I appreciated John’s help.”
- After completing work on a tenant’s garden our Clean and Green team were handed a note. Well done; Richard Hall, Wayne Morgan, Patrick Jenkins, Darren Price, Scott Cray, Mike Vale, Aaron Hughes, Dan Roberts, Jamie Fox and Lee Williams from our Clean and Green Team. - While being seconded to Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council to help with the Test, Trace and Protect programme, Fleur Gladwin from our Employment and Skills team was assigned an elderly lady to contact. Despite the lady stating that everything was okay, Fleur sensed something wasn’t right. She continued to talk to the lady and it became obvious that the lady was very hard of hearing and didn’t understand what was being said to her. It turned out that the lady was suffering from dementia, amongst many other health issues. Fleur escalated the case, and a care package is now being implemented by Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.
