Our Clean and Green Earth Teams have supported the Hospice Of The Valleys with their new garden shelter project.
Our contractors MSH building jumped at the opportunity to help out so they have custom built and fitted the doors to the shelter, and all for free! In the very near future we are going to install some lighting and heating to complete the project.
Julie Williams, Business & Community Fundraising Manager stated; “Due to the Covid pandemic we have been prevented from offering our face to face sessions with those who have suffered bereavement or patients and their loved ones in need of support indoors at the Hospice. We have been using our Garden Shelter but with winter coming we quickly realised that we need our very own DIY SOS and needed to do something urgently to make the shelter weather-proof. I contacted Tai Calon who have been a fantastic support to the Hospice and was thrilled that they were happy to come to our rescue by renovating the shelter and installing doors. The doors were fitted by MSH building and we have been delighted with the progress made in a short timeframe, the final piece of the jigsaw will see an electric source run to the shelter. Completion of the project will benefit everyone who needs support from the Hospice, in these difficult times we have seen an increase in people needing face to face support following bereavement of advice. We would like to thank Tai Calon, MSH, and Co-Op Blaina who have been most generous in helping to transform the shelter and this will make a big difference to our service users.
