Alongside providing customers with excellent core services, Tai Calon is committed to providing opportunities and information to its tenants and other customers to improve their social and economic well being.

Tai Calon has started to take positive steps to tackle issues of financial and economic exclusion, which is a key issue for our customers and communities. It is the aim of these Money Talks pages to raise customers’ awareness of the types of financial and economic support and products available, to try to prevent them from falling into financial exclusion and to help those who are already facing financial hardship

We are about to review our economic and financial inclusion strategy to take into account the economic recession and the recent changes to welfare benefits.

Housing Benefit is available to help anyone on a low income pay their rent. If you think you may be entitled to this benefit, get in touch with Blaenau Gwent Council’s benefit section. You can contact them on 01495 311 556.

Income Support is a Benefit to help meet the regular needs of people who have no other income, or on a low income. If you work more that 16 hours per week you would not be eligible for this scheme.
