On the 10th September, Tai Calon joined forces with Gwent Police, Hilltop Log Cabin, Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council (BGCBC) and All Saints Primary School for a community litter pick in Hilltop.

This took place as part of wider work in the area to make Hilltop a cleaner, safer and better place to live, working with local partners to turn plans into visible improvements for the community.

The team started by tackling litter around Hilltop Shopping Centre and the Hilltop Log Cabin, helping to make these community spaces cleaner and more welcoming for residents. We then ventured over to All Saints Primary School, where the school’s fantastic Eco Warriors joined us to help litter pick the surrounding area.

A special thank you goes to John Mewett from BGCBC for supplying the litter-picking equipment, and to Cllr Jen Morgan for coming along to show her support.

Finally, a big thank you to Tai Calon colleagues Lauren Williams and Bethan Moses for attending, helping to make the event such a success.

It was great to see partners, local representatives and young people working together to take pride in the community and make a positive difference.
