We’re delighted to share some exciting updates about the Tai Calon Board!

At the recent AGM on 15th September, Julie Thomas was appointed as a Board Member by our Share Members, and shortly after, on 22nd September, the Board appointed her as Chair. Julie brings a wealth of leadership experience from a remarkable 37-year career in the NHS, mainly in Gwent, where she progressed from nursing for people with learning disabilities to senior leadership roles, including Director of Nursing and Performance at Monmouthshire LHB and Chief Executive. Her passion for integrating housing and health services, sparked by her work on the innovative In One Place programme with Melin Housing Association, makes her an inspiring addition to Tai Calon’s leadership team.

Julie is committed to promoting wellbeing, equality, and diversity, and she’s excited to support Tai Calon in continuing to provide great homes and services for our communities.

Alongside Julie, our Board continues to benefit from the dedication and expertise of our other members:

We also want to take a moment to thank Professor Sir Adrian Webb, who has retired after serving the maximum term of six years. His contribution to Tai Calon has been invaluable, and we wish him all the best for the future.

With this refreshed Board, including Julie at the helm, Tai Calon is well-positioned to continue driving positive change and delivering on our Mission to go beyond affordable housing and to create vibrant communities across Blaenau Gwent.
