Richard Hopkins
Interim Chief Executive
Richard is a qualified Building Surveyor with nearly 30 years of experience in the housing sector. He has a rich history of leading assets and property teams to create customer-focused delivery strategies, enabling them to thrive as a team and embed cultural growth within the organisation. Outside of work, Richard has a passion for Rugby Union and watching his sons play sports.
Andrew has worked for Tai Calon for ten years and is responsible for a wide range of front-line services we deliver to customers. He is very proud of the local partnerships he has helped develop that support our community. He has worked in the social housing sector for 27 years in a range of senior roles for both Local Authorities and Housing Associations. Andrew loves to travel but spends most of his spare time enjoying the outdoors of the beautiful Beacons.
Martyn is an experienced accountant having worked in both the public and private sectors for over 30 years. His experience includes the development and implementation of financial strategies, housing association funding and financial management, while ensuring the delivery of a customer focused service which delivers value for money.
Amie has worked in the housing sector as a Chartered Accountant for 8 Years and is proud to be a member of an organization who is putting the customer at the heart of every decision. Currently Amie is Vice Chair and Treasurer for Hafan Cymru. Amie loves to challenge herself physically and particularly enjoys CrossFit and Skiing – she has taken this love of physical exercise to help raise money for charities, whilst also keeping her heart rate up!
Andrew is a qualified Building Surveyor with twenty years of experience in both the private sector and social housing. His role provides a traditional client function between the strategic asset management, assets delivery and property services teams. Providing a clearly identifiable place where decisions are made about what work will be carried out by which team and when. Spending as much time as possible doing the things that are important to residents. Outside of work Andrew loves sport, live music, travel and encouraging his two children to continually challenge themselves and experience new things.
Ceri is our Head of Income and Support. She is very much a people person and believes in designing and improving effective systems and processes. She has a vast knowledge around welfare benefits, support and advice. Ceri is very proud that we are one of the best performing providers in Wales collecting our rental income whilst at the same time supporting tenants to ensure they can sustain their tenancy successfully.
David has accumulated over 25 years of experience in the Welsh housing sector, encompassing Housing and Asset Management roles. He leads a dedicated team that enhances customers’ homes and their communities.
His team prioritises improving energy efficiency across Tai Calon’s 6,000 homes, aiming to reduce energy costs and the environmental impact. David also leads initiatives to balance Tai Calon’s carbon footprint.
Outside work, he cherishes family time, enjoys walking, pursues amateur fruit and vegetable growing, and volunteers with an environmental group.
Darren is a seasoned professional in the housing sector, boasting over 15 years of expertise as a qualified tradesman and building surveyor. With a history of leading property teams, he excels in delivering customer-focused services. He leads the repairs, voids, and planned repairs program.
Darren was a very keen sportsman though now preferring the role of a spectator and outside of work, he now channels his passion for sports into coaching rugby and swimming.
Mark has a background in business intelligence, process improvement and project management. He has been with Tai Calon for five years. He and also has experience in both the logistics industry and local government, where he worked on several major operational change programmes.
Rachel is an experienced housing professional with over 18 years’ service in the sector.
In her role here at Tai Calon Community Housing she has strategic responsibility for leading tenancy and estate management, lettings, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding and our Green Earth Services.
Rachel has extensive experience in engagement, partnership working and collaboration. As well as a housing background Rachel also has a background in criminology, counselling, mentoring and coaching. She is particularly passionate about delivering excellent services to our tenants/customers and stakeholders and has a keen interest in preventing homelessness.
Ross is fortunate to have lots of variety in his role. He is responsible for customer experience, engagement, well-being, and our employment and training services. Outside work he is a family man first, closely followed by being a slightly obsessed garage gym enthusiast.
Vicki is an experienced procurement professional that is dedicated to delivering a high quality service to support achieving organisational objectives. Vicki joined Tai Calon in 2011 and is responsible for procurement, risk management, internal controls, insurance and data protection. Staff at Tai Calon would describe her as hardworking, enthusiastic, supportive and approachable.
