What’s happening at St George’s Court
What we’ve done so far
Work is already well underway at St George’s Court, with £3.8 million invested in important improvements, including fire safety upgrades and the removal of walkways. Planning permission has now been granted for the full programme of works, which will include:

Latest update – January 2026
Windows Installation – Updated Programme
- No further window installations will take place until the end of March 2026.
- The overall programme is now expected to run to the end of April 2026.
- Quotes for associated brickwork are being finalised.
- Utility room windows will not be replaced at this stage due to the link with the curtain‑wall system; these will be completed later as part of the External Wall Insulation (EWI) works.
Ventilation Works – Planning Underway
- Conduct damp surveys to identify issues in individual homes.
- Use AICO environmental monitors where appropriate to track conditions and help plan next steps.
Communal Areas & Estate Improvements
- Bull‑nosing of communal steps has begun.
- Decoration of ceilings and railings will start shortly, dependent on weather.
- Decoration of communal walls will take place in the next financial year.
- Colour choices will meet RNIB accessibility guidelines, and residents will be invited to give feedback before colours are finalised.
Funding Position
While main external funding has not yet been confirmed, Tai Calon has allocated internal budget to continue essential works in the meantime.
